Our Intellectual Property

The Pro-IV system is innovative and novel. There are no systems available today that are designed to prevent errors in gravity-driven infusion systems, which are by far the most widely-used approach for intravenous administration of medications.

Pro-IV’s intellectual property includes patents on its disposable or reusable valve systems, any kind of patient I.D system (e.g., RFID), and any kind of drug I.D. system, and on any kind of valve, opening mechanism and valve location, which could be placed anywhere on the fluid path.

The company has developed two generations of systems:

• Based on a proprietary mechanical valve, the PRIDE™ system focuses on error-prevention alone.
• Based on a sophisticated electronic valve, IMMAGES™ monitors, manages and documents intravenous drug therapy and blood transfusion. The system provides an electronic and wireless communications interface between the hospital IT system  and the patient.
